The week before holidays!

I am going to share some of the activities I did in my social service the week before holidays. During that week I had some children in extra help, I helped them with some grammar points they had problems with. It was a little bit crazy because they came from different classes and with different problems so it was hard for me to keep them quiet but in the end I think it was useful for them, according to their teachers. I also had extra help sessions with adults, that is much easier ,however, it becomes difficult when I have too many students from different levels. Ss are always grateful to receive this kind of personalized help. I kept on teaching the conversation course and at the same time I had the presentations or sessions to help learners develop their communicative skills, I am teaching them strategies to improve their speaking and their writing skills. This presentations are no doubt very useful since most learners are not able to speak or write effectively.  I am pleased because most of the students from the conversation course are attending the presentations and they are improving a lot.

I kept on making material for all courses. this activity is really helpful since it helps teachers to cue more effectively in their classes and students benefit from it to a great extent. I also organized and planned the conversation course classes as well as the presentations.

  1. Hi Jaide,
I like reading your post; I also had a busy week before Easter break. I feel very happy for you because you are providing help to the students with your tutorials and the ones in your project are improving their speaking and writing. There is a personal comment that I would like to share with you, I like working with adults because I believe that they usually (in my personal case) behave better in class, and they are more coconscious about what they want and why they are learning. Congratulations Jaide :)

    1. Hi Jaide:
I was so crazy with my late start of my SS that I did not have so much time to read about my classmates' projects. I love what you are doing, especially with the tutoring and personalized help because that is what I am doing, so it kind of reassures me that I am doing a right job.
It is so true what you say about students’ appreciation to the program because I have experienced it even with students that I did not know before this experience.
How do you get the time to prepare material for teachers? I feel like I need 48 hours’ days.
Congratulations on your SS and keep up with the good work. Read you soon.

  2. Hi Jaide,

    I agree with Nazary, I also need 48 hours'days.
What you are doing with the tutoring and the personalized help is very nice job. I have never worked in that kind of courses. It'd be interesting!

    Keep it up!
    Edna :)
